Each day, more than a billion of the world’s poorest people walk long distances to obtain the water they need to survive. Millions lack the energy or resources to collect clean water and are forced to use contaminated sources nearby. Hundreds of children and adults die each day from the lack of potable water.

Turning Wine Into Water’s mission is to build sustainable water and sanitation facilities for those people who lack them -- in the poorest regions of the world -- through wine-related events. The three-year old Darien group’s fundraising efforts provide immediate impact through the building of wells that have, to date, improved the lives of thousands of people in Zambia. TWIW is providing a local solution to a global problem.
