At the VWE, you’ll have an opportunity to taste and buy over 300 wines (with a commemorative crystal wine glass), taste samples of signature dishes from some of Virginia’s best restaurants and watch live celebrity chef demonstrations.

The Expo’s primary purpose is to enhance the prestige of and educate the public about Virginia wine through tastings, wine seminars, chef demonstrations and interaction with the winery owners and winemakers. Just as important, the VWE is a celebration, where attendees may uncork a bottle and relax in the VWE Wine Garden, while dining on fine food.

The VWE is actually seven separate events held over three days. In addition to last year’s Walk-Around Grand Tastings, new events such as the SunTrust Governor’s Cup Grand Tasting, the Virginia Wine Expo Brunch at The Jefferson Hotel and the Sit-Down Reserve Tasting, have been added.

For those with a truly discerning palate, the SunTrust Governor’s Cup Grand Tasting is Mecca. You’ll witness the unveiling of the Governor’s Cup award-winning wines and also enjoy an open wine bar, gourmet food and the opportunity to taste and buy over 350 wines, including reserve wines unavailable during the rest of the Wine Expo.
