| Ron Edwards, Master Sommelier

 | | Ron Edwards, M.S. is a man who has been surrounded by the service of others all his life. It was only natural that he would end up serving others as a profession. His father served others as a minister and taught him through example that serving is a noble and respectable way to live. He found, like his father did, that serving others fulfills a person like no other profession can.
In his travels he has been a server, Dining Room Manager of Sweet Lorraine’s Cafe, General Manager/Sommelier of Five Lakes Grill, Dining Room Service Instructor at Schoolcraft College, Sommelier of Tapawingo, Director of Education for The Grapevine School of Wine and now owner of Five Star Sommelier Services.
In 1997 Ron sat for and passed the Certificate Level Sommelier exam and then dedicated himself to the task of Advanced Sommelier which he accomplished in 1998. In 2004 he passed the Practical Service portion of the Master Sommelier Exam and in 2005 he passed the Theory & Tasting portions to become the 75th Master Sommelier in the US.
He is passionate about sharing the knowledge that empowers people to explore the world of wine, spirits and beers.
