Under the Texan Sun Texan/Tuscan Carolyn Adair Leading Olive–Picking Group to Tuscany in November To Speak October 13 1-6:30 pm (NOTE DATE CHANGE) Flavors From Afar hosts Carolyn Adair, Texas local turned Tuscan olive oil producer, as she signs bottles of her Amici Olive Oil and provides informal dialog regarding olive culture and Tuscan lifestyles from 1-6pm. In November, she will host locals (including store owner Nancy Krabill) on an olive-picking tour at her estate in Tuscany where they will harvest olives, dine with locals, visit a fantoio where the olive oil is made, and visit Florence on the way out of town. Five openings are still available for the trip October 29-November 4. Adair will present a brief overview of the experience at 6pm followed by dinner. “I am excited about participating in the process of making one of our favorite olive oils,” said Nancy Krabill, co-owner of Flavors From Afar. Adair, former Texas A&M Director of Student Activities, lives part of the year in Tuscany where she manufactures Amici Oil from her 100-tree olive orchard. Last year, Adair manufactured 400 bottles of oil from 70 baskets of olives. Amici Oil contains no pesticides or preservatives. With four years of production under Adair’s belt, Amici Oil shows no sign of stopping.
