Sicily is an area that's associated in many minds with the Godfather and other unsavory characters. Sort of like all Texans wear cowboy hats, have red necks, and spit in public, right? What you may not know is that Sicily, the largest of Italy's 20 regions, is bounded by three seas, has climates ranging from Texan-unbearable summers to high plains and volcanoes. and boasts Greek ruins and salt flats. All of this to say that discovering today's Sicilian wine is a delight, a treat. We'd like to share it with you. We'll feature wines ranging from a sunny, light Grillo wine and classic juicy red Nero d'Avola , along with two other wines in-between that demonstrate the depth and breadth of the new attention to quality, not quantity in Sicily. We'll include a little geography and history of Sicily (every heard of Scylla and Charybdis?)
