“Strawberries, cherries, and an angel's kiss in spring - summer wine is really made from all these things.” So sang pop chick Nancy Sinatra on “Summer Wine,” a duet with singer-songwriter Lee Hazlewood from her 1966 album Nancy in London. That said, what do you drink in the summer? We like dry reds. But a Cab Sav or even a Merlot leaves us logy on warm nights. What's a red-loving person to do? Here are some suggestions: White Wine remains popular, Rosé really takes off this time of year, Chilled Cabernet Franc, lighter, but not cloying, Sauvignon Blanc with fried chicken and of course Zinfandel with barbeque and grilled veggies.
