Event Details

(Oak Park, IL) – The Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park will hold its annual benefit event on Thursday, November 10th at The Hemingway Museum, 200 N. Oak Park Avenue, Oak Park. The evening begins at 6:30pm. Salut Hemingway – A Toast to A Moveable Feast is an evening inspired by Hemingway’s travels through France and Spain featuring fine wines, cheeses and candlelight dinner at your choice of Café Le Coq or Hemmingway’s Bistro, each featuring menus inspired from recipes included in The Hemingway Cookbook by Craig Boreth. The program includes award winning sommelier Robert Bansberg, Ambria Restaurant, who will explore regional wines and food associated with Hemingway’s travels, life, and relationships. Guest speakers will recount tales of Hemingway’s appetites and how they developed from the simple to the elaborate as he left Oak Park to travel the world. Tickets are $100 per person and include hors d’oeuvres, tasting, program, and dinner. Reservations are limited, and must be made by Thursday, November 3rd. To purchase tickets, please call 708.848.2222, weekdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and indicate your dining preference. The Foundation fosters understanding of the life and work of Ernest Hemingway, with emphasis on his Oak Park origins and his impact on world literature. Its mission reflects the Foundation’s belief in the importance of the written word and the value of thoughtful reading and writing. For more information, visit www.ehfop.org or call 708.848.2222.
