Vittorio De Roma, Academia Barilla and Cosentino Winery Present TUTTO PE' LA PANZA! Vittorio De Roma Restaurant, Academia Barilla and Cosentino Winery will present TUTTO PE' LA PANZA (Everything for the stomach) an educational wine dinner, Wednesday, October 19th at 6:30pm at Vittorio De Roma, 154 Northwest Hwy in Palatine. Chef Gar will prepare a delicious 6-course dinner which will be paired with 5 Cosentino wines. Mario Rizzotti, Italian Culinary Specialist for Academia Barilla and the Food Network will be present to educate guests about specially made extra virgin olive oils and aged Balsamic vinegars by Academia Barilla , which will not only be used in Chef Gar's preparations, but sampled by guests between the appetizer and salad. In addition, Catherine Timmins from Cosentino will also be there to talk about the wines. The reception will begin with several passed appetizers will begin at 6:30. Dinner will be served at 7pm. TUTTO PE' LA LANZA MENU Appetizer Prosciuitto di Parma Fichi - Proscuitto de Parma with Figs drizzled with Academia Barilla 18 month old Balsamic Vinegar Cosentino The Novelist. Meritage, White, 2004 Salad Eggplant Caprese, Alternating layers of eggplant, beefsteak red and yellow tomatoes and fresh Buffalo Mozzerella with an aged balsamic dressing Cosentino Med Red, 2004 Pasta Course Pesto Linguini with Rock Shrimp in a light lemon butter sauce Cosentino Sangovese, 2003 (Critics Platinum Medal - 2005 Critics Choice Challange, Double Gold - 2005 San Francisco International Wine Competition) Entree Filet Mignon in a Porcini Brandy Cream Sauce and Slightly Blackened Swordfish served on a bed of Roasted Red Pepper Sauce. Cosentino Cabernet Sauvignon, 2002 (Gold Medal - 2005 Winner Long Beach Grand Cru Duetto Dolchi Vanilla Gelato drizzled with *Academia Barilla 25 Year-Old Aged Balsamic Vinegar Chocolate Hazelnut Cake Cosentino Cigarzin, 2004 Zinfandel *Only 1500 bottles of this Balsamic Vinegar are made each year The cost of the dinner is $65 plus tax and gratuity.
