Critiquing the Wine Critics We will review the power and styles of wine critics, some of whom have significantly more influence than critics in art or movies. We will discuss the merits of different critical approaches, and then taste wines that have been praised and panned in a “blind” format to form independent opinions. The critics, columns, and periodicals included for review will be Robert Parker, Wine Spectator, Jancis Robinson, the New York Times’ Wines of the Times, Decanter, and the growing number of bloggers or web critics. In addition to wine tastings, artisanal bread and cheeses will be served. Registration deadline: October 27.
This class will take place at the University of Chicago's Gleacher Center.
