| BIN 36 CELEBRATES AUTHENTIC AUSTRALIAN WINE AND CUISINE
WITH THE SIXTH ANNUAL AUSTRALIAN WINE TOUR
ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 13
Win a Trip for Two to the State of South Australia;
Ticket Proceeds to Benefit CASA of Cook County
CHICAGO (June 27, 2005) - BIN 36 (339 N. Dearborn St.) will bring all things Australian to life with a month-long celebration of cheese and wine indigenous to the continent, highlighted by the Sixth Annual Australian Wine Tour on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 from 6 to 10 p.m. With a special BIN 36 Aussie Cheese Flight and Wine Flight, as well as the Aussie-inspired affair bringing the best of the region to Chicago, guests will have the opportunity to experience a true taste of the Outback at BIN 36. Additionally, urbanites will have an opportunity to win an all-expense paid trip for two to the State of South Australia, courtesy of the South Australian Tourism Commission and Qantas Airways.
Joined by The Australian Premium Wine Collection, The South Australian Tourism Commission and Chicago magazine, BIN 36 is pleased to bring Australian wine, cuisine and hospitality to the Windy City on Wednesday, July 13. Guests will sample more than 50 wines representing different regions of the continent, as well as delve into a myriad of Australian dishes to match.
Tickets for the Sixth Annual Australian Wine Tour are available for $50 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity. For reservations, please call BIN 36 at (312) 755-9463. Tickets may also be purchased at the door the evening of the event, based on availability.
Further adding to the festivities, a raffle will be held to win a trip for two to the State of South Australia (including airfare, accommodations and a wine tour and tasting); as well as bottles of fine Australian wines courtesy of the Australian Premium Wine Collection; tickets to BIN 36 wine classes and tastings; and much more.
A portion of ticket sale proceeds - and all proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets for the trip for two to the State of South Australia - will benefit CASA of Cook County. BIN 36 Partner Dan Sachs currently serves as a president of the board. CASA is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the juvenile court system. Based on the belief that every child is entitled to a safe and permanent home, CASA of Cook County recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who work in collaboration with judges, key agencies, legal counsel and community resource groups. In addition, throughout the month of July, Executive Chef John Caputo will offer the Aussie Cheese Flight, featuring four artisanal Australian cheeses: Shades of Blues (Tarago River Cheese Company); Persian Fetta (Yarra Valley Cheese Company); Mature Cheddar (Ashgrove Tamanian Farms); and Roaring Forties Blue (King’s Island Dairy) for $10.
Wine Director Brian Duncan will offer a special Aussie Wine Flight, also $10, featuring two-and-a-half ounce pours of two Australian whites: 2002 Flinder’s Bay “Pericles” Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon Australia and Rocky Gully Dry Riesling 2004, and two reds: Tim Adams “The Fergus” Grenache 2003 and Paringa Cabernet Sauvignon 2002. Additionally, any bottle of Australian wine offered in the BIN 36 Market will be available for purchase at a 15 percent discount.
