Italy: Europe's Other Great Wineland These CWS courses are for those who wish an in-depth study of a specific wine region (a different region or topic is covered each semester). The Basics course or an equivalent is suggested as a prerequisite. CLASS 1: Italy's vinous background, wine laws & nomenclature plus an introduction to its most popular wines. CLASS 2: This session deals with the fresh & easy-drinking wines from Friuli, Trentino, Veneto and Lombardia. CLASS 3: We'll cover central & southern Italy's table wines as well as the country's classic dry sparklers. CLASS 4: Toscana & Umbria - the great Sangiovese-based reds of Chianti, Montalcino, Montepulciano & Torgiano. CLASS 5: Piemonte - Barolo, Barbaresco, Gattinara, the Barberas and other extraordinary red wines There is lot parking.
