WHO IS BENI DI BATASIOLO?
The founders of "Beni di Batasiolo" were 5 brothers and sisters that grew up near Barolo, Italy. Their family's tradition had long been steeped in the local wines for as far back as records exist. In 1978, these Barolo enthusiasts had the opportunity of a lifetime - owning land in the very exclusive Barolo DOCG.
30 years later, under the guidance of the youngest brother, Fiorenzo Dogliani, they have become the world's leading Barolo producers, with an almost unheard of production of four distinct, single vineyard Barolo's.
This key to their success, their love of the land, is aptly reflected in their name, "Beni di Batasiolo". "Beni" in Italian means "property", but in the local dialect, it takes on the added meaning of "blood, sweat, tears - everything and everyone that CONNECTS you to the land". "Batasiolo" is the name of their largest vineyard in Barolo.
Some of their accolades include:
Top 100 Wines of the World - Wine Spectator (6 times)
3 Bicchieri - Gambero Rosso
Top Red Wine Under $20 - Beverage Tasting Institute
Best Values - Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, etc
and several Gold Medals around the world
