The “Week-End des Grands Amateurs”, organised by the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux, has become an unmissable event for lovers of Bordeaux wines.

The 2008 edition will be even more special as it will give you the opportunity to taste the exceptional vintage 2005 of some of the best châteaux Bordeaux has to offer.

In order to round up your weekend we will take you out into the vineyards to enjoy exclusive and convivial visits & encounters.

Tour highlights:

Thursday 15 May 2008 : Welcome to Bordeaux

Welcome at your hotel in the city centre of Bordeaux and dinner in the company of a wine professional.

Friday 16 May 2008 : The Médoc Experience

Taste and enjoy the wines and culinary delights of one of the most famous appellations of the Médoc. Three Grands Crus Classés 1855 and one Cru Bourgeois open their doors for thematic visits and tastings of wine & local specialities.

Saturday 17 May 2008 : The “Week-end des Grands Amateurs”

Tasting of over 100 great Bordeaux wines. Each château will be offering two vintages : The already legendary 2005 vintage and one other of their choice from 1997 – 2004.

Dinner at a Grand Cru wine estate in either the Médoc, Graves, Sauternes, Saint Emilion and Pomerol region (depending on your preferences & availability) during which the Château owners will present their wines: dry white, red and/or sweet white Grands Crus.

Sunday 18 May 2008 : Wine & Heritage in Saint-Emilion

Explore the picturesque medieval village of Saint-Emilion. Visit & taste at 2 Grands Crus Classés and enjoy a country-style buffet at a wine estate. Return to Bordeaux in the late afternoon/early evening, end of our services.

Price per person (double occupancy) from:

- 690 € in a two-star-hotel (single room supplement 105 €)

- 780 € in a three-star-hotel (single room supplement 120 €).

These prices include:

- three nights’ accommodation including breakfast

- transportation (except transfers in & out on your arrival & departure days)

- two dinners, one lunch and one country-style buffet/brunch including wines

- a wine expert during dinner on the first night

- the visits & wine-tastings mentioned in the above itinerary.

Not included are transfers in & out on arrival & departure, personal expenses and generally speaking any expense not mentioned in the itinerary.
