| Please join us for an informal tasting of two Catena wines and three Catena Alta premium wines, and meet Celeste Pesce, Vineyard Manager and Assistant Winemaker to Nicolas Catena, who will share her experience in producing outstanding wines of the Mendoza valley.
Much of the history of wine making in Argentina has been influenced by Nicola Catena who sailed from Italy in 1898 to Argentina, settling in Mendoza where he planted his first Malbec vineyard in 1902. Malbec had been a blending grape in Bordeaux. But, Nicola suspected it would find its hidden splendor in the Argentine Andes.
Four generations after Nicola Catena landed in Argentina, the name Catena is associated with high quality Malbec, Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignon varietal wines and blends that are good values, while also producing premium wines more than capable of competing with the best wines of France and California.
The wines available for tasting are:
Catena Chardonnay 2005 $16.99
Catena Malbec 2004 $19.99
Catena Alta Chardonnay 2004 $32.99
