We are indeed fortunate to get Anthony Hendrie to conduct this dinner tasting featuring the wines of Grant Burge. Vin Vino met Anthony at a tasting of Australian wines in NYC and Anthony is keeping his promise to do a tasting for us in New Haven. Well be tasting 5 of their top wines with our dinner: Barossa Vines Chardonnay, Kraft Sauvignon Blanc, The Holy Trinity Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvedre, Filsell Shiraz, 10 year old Tawny. Some people have said that the Filsell Shiraz epitomizes what Shiraz is all about, but Vin Vino was impressed by all their wines. Why travel to NYC when we have Portofino here in New Haven. This is our first event at this venerable restaurant on State Street and here is what Alphonse has planned for us: Fried calamari siciliano grilled eggplant parmigiano penne bolognese veal cacciatore roasted shrimp with rabe & beans chicken française Remember: our prices include tax and tip and a member can bring guests at the member’s price.
