| SILVER ANNIVERSARY of the Celebration of the Grape!
Booths Still Available for 25th Annual Altus Grape Festival
The Altus Grape Festival is sponsored each year by the area’s local wineries – Chateau aux Arc, Mount Bethel, Post Familie, and Wiederkehr – by area grape growers, businesses, civic organizations and residents. This year marks the 25th year of the festival that truly celebrates the grape, and attendees can expect the same fun and quality entertainment and activities that make this successful event the largest in the area, with people from across the U.S. and even international visitors attending.
Booth spaces are still available for this two-day event that starts Friday, July 25, at 5:00 p.m. and continues all day Saturday, July 26, from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Festivities include a Friday night street dance and fireworks display, a variety of live music starting with the popular Cummins Prison Band, grape-related games for children and adults (with the most popular event being the grape stomp competitions), quality juried arts and crafts, and wine and juice tasting by all local wineries. Returning this year for all you guys is the Bacchus Look-alike Contest on Friday night!
Amateur winemakers are invited to bring the best of their homemade wine to the Amateur Winemaking Competition at this Silver Anniversary celebration of the grape! Wines to be judged are asked to be brought to the Depot Community Building by 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, with results from the judging to be presented to the winners at 4 p.m. For further information on the Winemaking Competition, please contact Michael Scott Irby at 479-468-2741.
To reserve a booth or for other local information, please call the Altus Chamber of Commerce at 479-468-4684. Come and join the fun at the Silver Anniversary Altus Grape Festival! You might go home with purple feet!
