The wines of Lake County California (just North of Napa) have been coming on strong in the last few years. Two of our favorites are Shannon Ridge & Trace Wineries. Both wineries are relatively new to the market. High in the mountains of Lake County California, Shannon Ridge is in High Valley with its steep slopes and virgin volcanic soils. Trace Wines are located just 50 miles northeast of San Francisco in a new AVA, Tracy Hills (also in Lake County) They grow all of their own fruit and produce all of their own wine at a great everyday price.
