The Rockpile AVA is one of the most unique appellations in Sonoma County. Located on a high ridge perched above Lake Sonoma in the northern reaches of the county, the Rockpile's harsh terrain stresses the grapes and produces wines known for abundant flavors. The Rockpile AVA has no wineries within its boundaries and currently produces only red grape varietals.
