ABOUT JOSE EDUARDO CHAVEZ:
Jose Eduardo Chavez is a Mixtec Indigenous, Immigrant, farm worker from Oaxaca, Mexico, raised in Madera, California. He has built an extensive career in community outreach, program management, and intercultural communication. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Spanish Language & Culture from Fresno Pacific University, Chavez is currently a Regional Program Manager at Richard Heath & Associates, Inc., and serves as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Madera and a Board Member at The San Joaquin River Conservancy. His work extends internationally with community development projects in Guatemala, studies in Colombia, and advocacy at the US-Mexican border. Chavez is also the co-founder of Comité Guelaguetza Madera, promoting the upliftment of Mexican indigenous communities in the Central Valley. His efforts focus on enhancing access to education, healthcare, and workers' rights, aiming to improve living conditions and ensure equitable representation for diverse communities.
