Making Korean food at home is easy and accessible when you have the right ingredients.

Making Korean food at home is easy and accessible when you have the right ingredients. Join food writer and chef-instructor Shawnie Kelley for a delicious menu of four flavorful, mouth-watering recipes. Add a little sizzle to your dinner with a classic beef bulgogi with thinly sliced barbecue beef. This quick, easy recipe is adaptable enough to heat it up with chili sauce or keep it crowd-friendly and mild. This is a gateway dish if you want to introduce the kids to Korean food. Class also handmakes two types of mandu, from making fillings to cinching and steaming. One version of the dumpling is filled with pork and vegetables and a second is filled with kimchi. Both are served with scallion-soy dipping sauce. The third recipe, japchae, is a stir-fry noodle salad of sweet potato starch glass noodles and your favorite vegetables. Columbus is very lucky to have several specialized Asian shops and international stores, making it easy to get your hands on what you need. During class, Shawnie will discuss ingredients, flavors, cooking techniques, and regional differences. At the end of class, enjoy your meal with a glass of wine.
